About The George M. Hughes Foundation
Established in 2006, the George M. Hughes Foundation awards scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors who attend school or reside in the North Metro-Atlanta area. The four scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, leadership, and economic need.
The scholarships are:
· Hughes Scholarship for academic excellence.
· Pinado Scholarship for need.
· Blackburn Scholarship for leadership.
· A Four-year Calvin O. Pressley Scholarship for academic excellence and leadership.
Calvin O. Pressley was instrumental in establishing Delta Upsilon Boule during his term as Sigma Pi Phi’s Grand Sire Archon.
Our foundation is committed to providing equal opportunities for students to achieve their academic dreams, regardless of their financial background. We aim to make a positive impact on the lives of our scholarship recipients and their communities.

Archon Hughes, a member of Kappa Boulé, was instrumental in the formation of Delta Upsilon Boulé. Archon George and Archousa Evelyn Hughes hosted the very first gathering of men who would eventually become charter members of the final member Boulé established in the first century of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity.
